Artist Information: Chen Brothers
James (13) and Jeremy (11) Chen both started piano lessons at age 6. Middlesbrough piano teacher Barbara White was the first teacher who spotted their special talent. James went to Barbara when he was working on grade 6. He scored all high distinctions for his grade 7 and 8. Two years later, he was awarded the Dip ABRSM distinction at the age of ten, which put him amongst the very few students in the entire world to achieve this standard at such young age.
Both of them won the Stockton music Festival and Darlington Young Musician competition at age 9.
James started Chetham's School of Music in Manchester in 2014, and Jeremy followed next year. Both of them skipped an academic year. They were both chosen to be soloist at School Christmas concert. Both are prize winners in Chopin International Festival in Warsaw in 2016.
James debuted piano concerto with Teesside Symphony Orchestra in April 2016 when he was 12. He is currently working on LRSM.
