Artist Information: Opera Nova
Founded in the late 1960s by John Morton and Iris Lemare, Opera Nova carries a proud legacy of achievement in promoting opera in the area. It has, over the years, performed a wide range of operas ranging from La Traviata, Falstaff and The Marriage of Figaro, to works by 20th century composers such as Britten and Menotti. They are the only amateur organisation in the area to promote and stage opera and aim to provide professional quality entertainment accessible to a wide audience.
"Angels & Demons" is a semi-staged production with a cast of memorable characters and, in various guises of good and evil, the powerful Opera Nova chorus.
An eclectic mix of scenes from operas and shows including Faust, Tosca, Orfeo and Sweeney Todd, as well as Les Miserables, and Carousel provides a thoroughly magical evening's entertainment.
Opera Nova will be accompanied by Alison Gill.
