Dario Llanos Javierre
... began his piano studies at the age of 7 with the Dutch teacher Marleen van de Zande. Obtaining the highest marks in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and theory exams, and after having taken further his studies in harmony and musical analysis with the teacher Álvaro Israel Gómez Alvarado, he enters the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, where he studies with Maestro Jacobo Ponce. He specialises in contemporary piano repertoire with renowned pianist Sebastián Mariné, and goes deeper in the study of harmony and improvisation with Emilio Molina. In 2010, he graduates achieving the highest possible mark: Matrícula de Honor.
Since then, he has continued developing his understanding of music and its approach through the piano with the help of Hungarian pedagogue Arpad Bodó. He has also attended courses with Leslie Howard, Artur Pizarro, Carlo Grante, Joseph Banowetz, Steven Vanhauwaert, Pascal Devoyon or Rikako Murata, among others.
In 2014 he is awarded the first prize in the International Piano Prize organised by The Liszt Society in London for his interpretation of the Troisième Année of Liszt's Années de Pèlerinage.
He has performed solo and with his chamber music groups in Spain, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. In 2011 he performs as soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, premiering the piece Estelas, by the young composer Diego Ramos.
As a part of his contemporary piano career he has premiered works by Alexander Tchaikovsky (Professor/Director of the Composition department at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory), Kuzma Bodrov (Alexander Tchaikovsky's assistant in Moscow), Manuel Seco (Head of the Composition department at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid) and Diego Ramos (violinist and composer at the Ensemble Modern, Frankfurt).
Along with his performing career, Darío Llanos Javierre is deeply committed to pedagogy, graduating in 2013 at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in Piano Pedagogy, obtaining the highest marks. Since 2010 a member of the Piano and Harp department at the Escuela de Música Creativa, which manages the public schools of music for the City Hall in Madrid, teaching in the public school in the districts of San Blas and Vicálvaro.
